HOW EVERY TALK SHOULD BE STRUCTURED:
1
Communicate the problem as it relates to me.
2
Communicate the problem as it relates to us.
3
Communicate the solution to the problem.
Communicate the problem as it relates to God.
4
Use a personal story connecting the problem to your life in some way.
Use examples to help the audience understand why this problem affects them.
This is where you show what God has to say about the problem.
Give them a razor sharp, doable-in-the-real-world action step.
IN EVERY TALK, YOU SHOULD:
-
Pray about what God wants you to say.
-
Address a real world problem.
-
Always start with a story.
-
Tie your story to the problem.
-
State the problem in one clear sentence.
-
State how the problem effects the audience.
-
Use scripture to show what God says about the problem.
-
Read the full context of the scripture before and after.
-
Know who wrote the scripture, and to whom it was written to
-
-
Give them something to do about the problem in the real world.
-
Use some kind of visual:
-
Minimum of slides (only one succinct statement per slide).
-
Pictures if you can find them.
-
Videos are great if they relate well.
-
Props never hurt!
-
-
Rehearse by yourself.
-
Try broadcasting your slides to an Apple TV, Chromecast of Fire TV Stick for rehearsal.
-
-
Stay under the allotted time limit.
-
Record and watch a video of your talk and take notes of things to fix.
